Safe, Supported Motherhood

Post-Delivery Care for Mothers and Newborns

We focus on the wellbeing of both the mother and the newborn baby in the weeks following childbirth, to ensure physical and emotional recovery. Our midwives help you heal, bond with your newborn and adjust to parenthood.

Warning signs to watch for

Our midwives watch for these signs and act quickly. Seek medical help straight away if you notice any of them.

  • In the mother: heavy bleeding, fever, severe headache, a red or painful wound, or feeling very low
  • In the baby: poor feeding, fever, yellow skin in the first day, fast or difficult breathing, or unusual sleepiness

C-section recovery at home

After a caesarean section, the wound needs care and mothers should avoid heavy lifting. Our midwives dress the wound, watch for infection, help with safe movement and positions for feeding, and take on more of the baby care while you recover.
