Comfort, Dignity & Compassion

Palliative Care at Home in Uganda

Palliative care focuses on relief from pain and other symptoms of a serious illness. It does not depend on whether the condition can be cured, and it can be given alongside other treatment. Its aim is a better quality of life for both the patient and the family.

Working with the patient's doctors

Our team follows the treatment plan of the patient's hospital or specialist and keeps them informed. Where needed, our own doctors visit at home to review pain control and other symptoms.

Palliative Care: common questions

Is palliative care only for the last days of life?

No. Palliative care can start at any stage of a serious illness and can be given alongside treatment aimed at a cure.

Can pain be controlled at home?

In most cases, yes. Our nurses give prescribed pain medicines, monitor comfort, and involve a doctor when the plan needs to change.

Do you support families after a loss?

Yes. Bereavement support and counselling for families are part of our palliative care.
