Post Delivery Care: Supporting New Mothers and Their Newborns

The period following childbirth is one of the most physically and emotionally demanding times for a new mother — and it's also when good care matters most. Teamwork Homecare's post delivery care service focuses on the wellbeing of both mother and newborn in the weeks after birth.
Our nurses assist with wound and stitch care, monitoring for signs of postpartum complications, breastfeeding support, newborn bathing and cord care, and general recovery guidance — giving new mothers the confidence and rest they need during a vulnerable time.
Every family's situation is different, so our post delivery care can be arranged for a few hours a day or around the clock, for as many days or weeks as needed, until mother and baby are settled and thriving.
Warning signs after birth
Seek medical help straight away if you notice any of these:
- Mother: heavy bleeding, fever, severe headache, a red or painful wound, or feeling very low or hopeless
- Baby: poor feeding, fever, yellow skin in the first day, fast or difficult breathing, or unusual sleepiness
Getting rest in the first weeks
Sleep deprivation makes recovery harder. A night midwife can care for the baby between feeds so the mother can sleep, while making sure feeding is going well. Even a few nights of support in the first weeks can make a big difference.
