Expert Rehab in Your Own Home

Physiotherapy at Home in Kampala

Rehabilitation after injury, illness or surgery improves movement and the functioning of the body. Our qualified physiotherapists create a personalised exercise programme tailored to your specific needs and goals, and deliver it in your own home.

Physiotherapist from Teamwork Homecare helping a patient exercise at home

Home physiotherapy removes the hardest part of recovery for many patients: travelling. Sessions are scheduled around the patient, family members can learn the exercises, and the physiotherapist can make the home safer at the same time.

What a home physiotherapy session involves

The first visit includes an assessment of movement, strength, balance and pain, and a conversation about goals. Each session then combines hands-on treatment, guided exercises and advice. You receive a simple home programme to practise between sessions, and progress is shared with the family.

Specialist rehabilitation at our sister centre

Some patients benefit from equipment and specialists only available at a clinic, such as neuro, pelvic floor or cardiopulmonary physiotherapy. Our sister centre, Teamwork Physiotherapy Centre International in Ntinda, provides these services, and patients can combine home and clinic sessions.

Physiotherapy: common questions

How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?

It depends on the condition and your goals. After the first assessment the physiotherapist will recommend a plan and review progress regularly.

Do I need equipment at home?

Usually not. The physiotherapist brings what is needed and advises if any simple equipment would help.

Can physiotherapy at home help after a stroke?

Yes. Regular home physiotherapy helps stroke survivors improve walking, balance and arm function, and teaches family members how to help safely.
